Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a federal anti-discrimination law that protects the rights of persons with disabilities. The purpose of Section 504 is to provide equal opportunity and equal access by eliminating discrimination based on disability in any program or activity receiving federal funds.
